Our Story
Born from the cliffs, built on trust.
GM Equestrian began with one simple belief: that the best way to see the Algarve is from the back of a horse. We're based in Alvor, a small fishing village at the mouth of a river estuary, surrounded by the most dramatic coastal cliffs in southern Portugal.
Every horse in our stable has been rescued. Some came from neglect. Some from overwork. Each one was rehabilitated slowly, carefully, until they were ready — not just to carry a rider, but to lead one.
We're not a tourist operation. We're a team of people who love these animals and love this landscape, and who want to share both with whoever is willing to slow down enough to appreciate them.

Every horse in our care has a name, a history, and a preference. Some like the cliff trails. Some like the beach. We pay attention. That's why our rides feel different.
